Two of the most popular female twitch streamers Amouranth and Pokimane have just recently started using an inventive approach to entice viewers to watch their streams, and more streamers are following suit.
When a streamer they follow goes live on Twitch, their profile images appear, and while they’re organized by the number of viewers, some have started changing their images for a more eye-popping look. Standing out on Twitch in a sea of other entertainers can make a massive impact on your success and Amouranth was one of, if not the first, to add a green circle around her picture.
While this tiny adjustment may not appear to be significant, it resembles an Instagram account with a story that people can view. As a result, some viewers click expecting Twitch to launch a new feature, only to see the same stream as before.
Other streamers picked up on the circle tactic and began using it in their own photos, with Pokimane being one of the first to test it out.
Dustinn ‘Dogman’ Bowerman, a former Overwatch player, even complimented the maneuver, prompting other streamers to label it “crazy smart” and a “galaxy brain move.”
It’s also not usually a green circle. To capture even more attention, xoAeriel, a popular hot tub and ASMR streamer, chose a combination of green and pink.
