Adin Ross Interviews Karl-Anthony Towns

Russell Westbrook’s divisive personality continues to make headlines in the NBA, especially after the LA Lakers’ Christmas Day loss to the Brooklyn Nets. With 13 points, 12 rebounds, and 11 assists, the former MVP had yet another triple-double. In 37 minutes of play, he was a team-worst -23.

Adin Ross recently interviewed Karl-Anthony Towns, who recently entered the NBA’s health and safety protocols. Towns was specifically asked what he thought of Russell Westbrook’s stats by the popular Twitch streamer and huge LeBron James fan.

KAT emphasized that winning is what matters to him before being asked about the new LA Lakers superstar. He made it clear that statistics don’t bring him joy, especially if they don’t result in victories.

The game against the Brooklyn Nets gave fans a taste of what Karl-Anthony Towns could bring to the team. Russell Westbrook recorded his sixth triple-double of the season, but he was clearly a factor in the Los Angeles Lakers loss to the Brooklyn Nets.

Former NBA head coaches Mark Jackson and Jeff Van Gundy chastised Russell Westbrook’s effort and decision-making throughout the game, particularly early on. On several occasions, he was beaten down the court on defense, allowing the Brooklyn Nets to score easy transition baskets.

The lead grew to 23 points at one point when LeBron James sat down, owing to the LA Lakers’ lack of hustle and energy. With Russell Westbrook off the court, the mighty comeback bid that turned a lopsided score into a close game was largely accomplished.

There appears to be no way for the LA Lakers to make the match work unless they make Russell Westbrook the backup ball handler. To make the most of LeBron James’ spectacular skills and clutch genes, the ball must be in his hands on offense.

Rob Pelinka signed the former Washington Wizards player in the hopes of having someone to fill in for James in his 19th season. This season, the King has been forced to play more minutes and play the center position in order to carry the Lakers, which includes Westbrook.

When healthy, the entire Lakers organization is confident that they can turn things around. The LA Lakers are set to play their toughest schedule in the next few months, so it’ll be interesting to see how that plays out.
